Custom Drapes in dining room
In this Montclair, NJ dining room project led by Daria Boutle Design, the different elements blend together, from the nature-themed wallpaper to the warm glow of the chandelier. The custom drapes add the perfect finishing touch, framing the windows with soft texture and quiet elegance.
The drapery fabric is a linen-cotton blend, chosen for its gentle, natural look and smooth drape. The light color blends beautifully with the tones of the wallpaper and trim, adding warmth without overpowering the space. When sunlight passes through, it gives the room a soft, inviting glow that feels calm and timeless.
The drapes are hung from a gilded bronze rod with rings, which brings a touch of sophistication and ties in with the chandelier and candleholders. The bronze finish adds just enough shimmer to make the space feel polished but still comfortable.
Each panel, along with the roman shades, was carefully made in our New Jersey workroom, ensuring a perfect fit and elegant fullness. When open, the drapes reveal the view outside, extending the room’s connection to nature. When closed, they create a cozy, intimate setting for family dinners or gatherings with friends.
This project shows how custom drapes can transform a room, connecting colors, textures, and light into a single, harmonious design. In this Montclair home, the result is a dining room that feels refined, relaxed, and welcoming.
