Goal of the project: For this elegant master bedroom, the client wanted curtains that clear the window when open. The drapery panels let light in and provide full privacy at night. This custom drapes project took place in Monmouth County NJ.

What we recommended: Fully closing drapes with a privacy liner in Reverie Casablanca. Custom drapes with a blackout liner are the best window treatment option for making a bedroom dark. This client enjoys the morning sun and simply wanted to have privacy in the bedroom. Casablanca is a warm white, that complements the off-white color of the painted doors and trim. The light sheen of the Reverie collection fabric adds a formal elegant touch to the window treatments. The designer traverse track in brushed bronze is finished with contemporary Elmore finials, which gives a clean and sleek look to the room. When custom drapes are installed in the bedroom, some clients go with a custom roman shade in an adjacent room. The roman shade is installed in a walk-in closet next to the bedroom or in the master bathroom.

Installation: We installed the drapes just under the ceiling. The goal was to increase the visual impression of height in the Master Bedroom. These custom curtains are installed 1/2″ off the floor. The objective is not to collect dust on the bottom hem. They are opened and closed daily. Custom drapes touching the floor is often recommended for stationary side panels. If curtains touch the floor and are operated daily, we recommend a dark color.
