Goal of the project: The client in Scotch Plains, NJ renovated the whole home. For the Master Bedroom light and noise control was important.

What we recommended: The client went with fully closing blackout drapes. Our fabric Reverie in Scenic color is a medium gray cotton blend fabric, with a light sheen. It complements very nicely the other medium gray tones of the furniture, especially the upholstered bed. The rich color creates a nice contrast with the light gray color on the wall. Custom drapes are the best option when it comes to light control. Since the blackout drapery panels are made wider and longer than the window, they keep most of the light out. It is a better option than doing regular shades. When blackout drapes are interlined (additional felt liner added between the face fabric and the blackout liner), they have additional sound control and insulation benefits.

Installation: The hardware is a designer rod with rings. It complements the stylish elegance of the bedroom. Since the drapes will be opened and closed frequently, we installed them slightly off the floor. The fabric will therefore remain clean.
