Goal of the project: The client recently moved and needed window treatments in their kids bedrooms.  The customers wish list for this project included:  blackout, insulating, neutral and made from sustainable fabrics.

What we recommended for this project:  Fully closing curtains in a European sustainable cotton blend fabric with a blackout liner. We understood that designing a soothing and comfortable environment for a child’s bedroom is essential for their well-being and quality of sleep. When it comes to the perfect bedroom setup, custom blackout curtains are a game-changer. These versatile window coverings not only add a touch of style but also provide numerous benefits for children’s bedrooms.

Custom blackout curtains are designed with a special lining that blocks out sunlight and external light sources effectively. This feature is particularly valuable for ensuring restful sleep, especially during daytime naps or summer nights when the sun sets late. By creating a darkened ambiance, these drapes promote a deeper and more uninterrupted sleep pattern for your child.

Apart from their light-blocking properties, custom blackout drapes and curtains offer additional advantages for kids’ bedrooms. They act as excellent noise insulators, reducing external sounds from traffic or other disturbances. Installation: To maximize the room darkening, we recommended treating side by side windows together and overlapping the windows in width and height.  We installed the drapery track as close as possible to the crown molding and ½ inch off of the floor. Since the curtains will be closed daily, they will not have any dust on them on the bottom hem.
