pooled custom drapes
pooled drapes trend
One of the hottest trends for couture home fashion is designer length “pooled” custom drapes. Pooled drapes are a great way to add drama and luxury to windows. Unlike traditional floating drapes that stop above the floor, pooled drapes hit the floor and create a pile or “pool” of fabric. Much like a wedding dress with a gorgeous long fabric train, the excess fabric in pooled drapes creates the feel of custom crafting and opulence
When considering pooled drapes, there are several factors to think about. The first factor is how much of a “pool” is right for your window.
different lengths of pooled drapes
Here are the different types of pooled drapes:
- Breaking drapes: “kiss the floor” drapes fall 1 – 2 inches onto the floor
- Medium pool: drapes pile 2 to 5 inches on the floor
- Puddled drapes: drapes pile 6 to 16 inches on the floor
It may feel overwhelming to try to figure out which length would work best but we recommend looking at photos for inspiration and/or talking to one of our design experts! We included here photos of pooled drapes from our collection.
