Goal of the project: This client in Jersey, NJ renovated the living room. The goal was to bring both warmth and elegance to the room. The customer also needed privacy during the day, while letting as much light in as possible.

What we recommended: We installed motorized roller shades in a solar weave fabric. Solar weave allows lots of light to come in during the day, while providing privacy.  Privacy is a concern is Jersey City, because the homes are close to each other. We handcrafted separate drapery panels to cover the molding between the windows. Rather than doing one large pair of drapes, we manufactured and installed separate panels. The drapery panels are closed in the evening.  Separate panels add warmth to the window. By hiding the molding, you get the impression there is one large window in the room.

Our designer recommended to go with Fortrose Embroidery fabric. The embroidery is is done in subtle grey and gold tones, over a warm whote color base fabric. The room stays airy and bright. The modern pleat, tacked “high”, gives a clean look to the pleated drapes. The hardware is a designer rod with rings in matte black color. The color goes well with other elements of the room, including the lamp and the TV.Installation: We installed the custom drapes touching the floor, to create a slight break and give a romantic look to the room
