Project Goal:

Our client in Allendale, NJ sought to renovate their sun soom. They had a row of side by side doors that required window treatments, as well as a large triple window. The primary objective was to enhance the appearance of the doors without obstructing the view or creating a closed-in feeling. Additionally, they wanted to soften the incoming light and minimize glare on the television through the window.

Our Recommendations:

We did a combination of custom sheer drapes and faux roman shades in this project in Annendale, NJ. To address the side by side doors, our Designer suggested the use of faux roman shade valances. These valances are currently one of the most popular choices for custom valances due to their modern, sleek design that avoids bulkiness. Their lightweight construction makes them ideal for mounting on doors. When lifted, Faux Roman valances resemble Flat Panel Roman Shades. The advantage of opting for Faux Roman valances instead of the actual shades is the absence of cords or mechanisms, providing a lighter overall weight. For the fabric, the customer selected the Grey color variant of our renowned sustainable cotton blend called Magma. This fabric features a harmonious marble sponge jacquard pattern that complements the room’s carpet, furniture, and decor seamlessly.

For the set of windows within the same room, our Designer recommended four custom drapery sheer panels made with our signature District fabric in a crisp white hue. District was an excellent choice for this room’s style due to its subtle texture and absence of a busy pattern. Selecting a clean white color allowed for a seamless transition from the light-colored walls to the windows. To mount the sheer drapery panels, we used our fashionable designer rod with metallic satin nickel rings.
