Goal of the project: The client renovated the dining room in Short Hills, NJ. The client’s objective is to have a formal touch. Privacy is not really a concern, although the client wanted the option to close the window treatments at night if needed.

What we recommended: A pair of pinch pleated curtains with our Reverie fabric in Scenic color. Reverie is a blend of cotton and polyester, a medium-weight fabric, with a different color tones. The color tones are in the grey family, which offers a nice contrast with the deep turquoise armchairs. 

This fabric goes well with the light color on the wall. The drapes are elegant without overwhelming the room. We added two white tie-backs as an elegant touch. This gives it also a slightly more formal look. The decorative rod with rings is in a deep caramel color, which goes well with the darker colors of the picture frames. The glass finials go well with the chandelier.

The custom curtains have 10 pleats, which is the equivalent of double width drapery panels. For total privacy at night, the drapery panels can be closed. 

Installation: We installed the drapes 1/2 inch off the floor. Since the curtains will be closed from time to time, they will not have any dust on them on the bottom hem.
