Goal of the project: The client renovated their formal living room in Edgewater, NJ. The client’s objective was to create a rich and warm feeling to cover the many windows in the living room. The living room is very bright during the day. The customer wanted to keep light coming in during the day, and have privacy at night. The goal is to find a warm fabric, elegant without being overly formal, to coordinate with the style of the room. An additional challenge is how to retain the charm of the curved wall.

What we recommended:  Custom heavyweight European linen drapes, from our Velasquez line, in an ivory color. This linen fabric is woven by one of the oldest linen weaver in Europe. We created 3 different panels to give a warm feeling to the room, while letting as much light in as possible. 

For a luxurious and sophisticated look, European heavyweight linen is a top choice for custom drapes. This type of fabric is known for its durability, texture, and natural beauty. It also drapes beautifully, giving a room a soft, relaxed feel. 

Installation: We installed the drapes 1/4 inch off the floor for a true custom look. The drapes are frequently opened and closed. A small deduction from the floor helps maintain the bottom of these light colored drapes clean. The custom linen drapes were installed on a curved rod with rings. This type of installation not only adds visual interest to the room, but it also makes it easy to open and close the drapes. The rings slide smoothly along the curved rod, ensuring that the drapes are easy to maneuver.
